What's Web Design?

Web Design is an elective at Red Bank Regional. It is a class that focuses on designing the web! You learn how to use creator websites like weebly, etc. This class is great if you want to become a journalist, be involved in the press, or even creating your own business!

Project | 01
Project | 01 Virtual Locker
One project that we have done is creating a virtual locker. Every student in this class created their own locker, using Google Slides. We were all given a template with a locker on it, and it was our job to put pictures on it that described us as a person. In addition, on the next slide we had to describe why we had that picture on our virtual locker. For example, I chose a dog because I have a dog named Scout, a basketball because that's my favorite sport, and a picture of a Canadian flag because I love going to Canada every year.

Project | 02 WEEBLY Website

The button above is to access my other website created with WEEBLY! This site has very similar information to this wix.com site, but in a different format! To be honest though in WEEBLY, there is a little less "wiggle room" to customize and make it your own, but overall, I enjoyed using it to create my own website.

Project | 03 How-to WEBSITE

The button above is to access my how to make blondies website! Our task for this project was to create a how to website based on any topic. I chose blondies because this was one of the first things I learned to bake from scratch and their one of my favorite desserts to eat!

Project | 04 FANPAGE

The button above is to access my fan page on Ellen Pompeo! Our task for this project was to design a fan page for any celebrity. I chose Ellen Pompeo, an actress most known for her role as Meredith Grey in Grey's Anatomy. I chose her because I'm obsessed with this show and she is my favorite character in it.

Project | 05 FUTURE SELF SITE

The button above is to access my future self website! In this project, we had to create a future career for ourselves and explain how we got there. Personally, I chose my future career as an ESPN telecaster. My whole life since I was about 8 years old, I could never stop watching sports, so being able to express my love for sports through this job would be an absolute dream.

Project | 06  SNOW DAY PICTURE

The picture above is my photoshopped picture from our snow day on February 1st! In this mini project, we had to take picture of ourselves in the snow either by yourself or with a friend, and then had to upload it to pixlr.com and edit it! The snow day picture above is a picture of me and my friend sledding. I edited it by changing the filter of the actual picture and words.

Project | 07 "Photoshop" Assign.

In this mini project, we had to create a photoshopped postcard wishing someone they were there with them on their travels using pixlr.com. Also, we had to incorporate a snowman and a beach, and then use our creativity to make it more of a realistic scene. In my photoshopped picture above, I made a boy making a 'sandman' while his parents were watching the sunset. Editing wise, I created shadows of the people and 'sandman' as if they were actually there on the beach, and adjusted the brightness on them, since the sun was setting. Finally, for the snowman I adjusted the saturation to make it more of a sandy color and put sunglasses on it.

Project | 08 COVID-19 Website

The button above is to access my COVID-19 website! In this project, we were tasked to research facts about the pros and cons about the different types of learning schools are using during the pandemic. Those types of learning included remote learning or at-home learning, hybrid learning, and fully in-person. Finally, we had to create a chart that expressed the similarities and differences between each type of learning style.

Project | 09 Young and Old Solo

In this project, the goal was to combine two people into one picture using pixlr.com. In this case, we used young and old solo. First, I had to download the provided pictures of them. Next, I had to trace out the young Han Solo and copy and pasted it into the older picture of him. Then, I "messed around" with the saturation, and brightness/contrast of the young solo to make it blend into the old Han Solo picture better to get my final photoshopped project.

Project | 10 Celebrity Meet and Greet

In this project, the goal was to create a photoshopped picture of any celebrity you wanted to meet and put yourself in it, as if you had just met your favorite celebrity! Since I just finished the CW series Vampire Diaries on Netflix, I thought it was only right to do Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon on the show. Therefore, I uploaded a selfie of him to pixlr.com. Next, to put myself in the picture, I took a picture of myself on my phone and downloaded it on the computer. Then, I used the 'lasso tool' to copy and paste myself onto my celebrity picture. Finally, I used the brightness/contrast and saturation tools to make my picture blend in better, and I also used the eraser to make it as if I was standing behind him in the selfie.

Project | 11 Face Swap

In this project, our task was to add our face to an existing picture of a celebrity with someone. In this case, I chose to replace my face in Vanessa Bryant, Kobe Bryant's wife's face. To make it realistic, I used the eraser tool to cut out the rest of the picture of myself. Also, I used the brightness and contrast features to blend the color of my face into the original picture. Overall, I had a really fun time doing this project!

Project | 12 Vacation Photoshop

In this project, the goal to photoshop yourself into your dream vacation spot using pixlr.com. Personally, it has always been a dream of mine to ski in Switzerland, so that's where I photoshopped myself! First, I found a picture of Switzerland on the internet and a picture of me and my dad skiing. Next, I added these pictures to pixlr.com and started to play around with the brightness and contrast to make it as if we were there. Finally, I added a shadow by using the free distort tool.

Project | 13 Starring-In

In this project, I had to find a movie scene and replace the main actor with yourself. I chose the tv show, Fuller House, which is a knock-off version of the famous Nickelodeon show, Full House.  To create this photoshopped picture, I searched up a scene of Fuller House, replaced Stephanie, one of the characters from  the show, with myself. Also, to make it even more realistic, I messed with the shadows and brightness features.

Project | 14 Cartoon in Real-Life

In this project, the goal was to create a “Roger Rabbit'' type of image to pixlr.com. In other words, we had to make the cartoon character a part of the image.  Specifically, I put Patrick Star, the cartoon version, into the Broadway Musical of Spongebob Squarepants the Musical! To make the cartoon version of Patrick Star, I found a cartoon picture of Patrick Star, uploaded it to pixlr, and used the eraser tool, clone tool, and the rotation and transparent features to create a reflection of Patrick on the stage.

Project | 15 Clone Body

In this project, I created an image that consists of multiple me's.  I took pictures of myself doing various activities within the same setting and then used “pixlr.com” and combined all the images into one so it appears that there are many different versions of me. In this case, I took photos on the staircase, keeping my phone in the same spot the entire time, to ultimately create a scene of "students" walking in the stairwell. In pixlr.com I uploaded the pictures I took and used the eliminating background feature, copy/paste, and the eraser tool to complete a realistic scene.

Project | 16 Face Clone

In this project, instead of creating an image that consists of my clones, I found a picture with at least 4 people in the shot. In this case, I chose the famous show Shark Tank, took pictures of me, and put my face on to some of the sharks. To cut out the background, I used the Pixlr Background Remover and the eraser tool, so I could use just my face. To make it more realistic, I used the sharpen tool, and messed around with the hue and saturation to match their skin tones to mine.

Project | 17 "Letter Off"

For this project, I recreated the famous ABC show Grey's Anatomy by changing a letter in the title so there is a whole new vibe of the show. Ultimately, I created the new show Pay's Anatomy! Then, I changed the poster to reflect this new theme. The original background was red, so I changed the background to green by adjusting the hue and saturation.  Also, I added "rich people" like the sharks from Shark Tank, and Kris Jenner, since this show is revolved around money.

Project | 18 Photoshop Project of Choice

In this project, we were able to choose any photoshop project that we wanted to do again. For my project, I chose to do the face clone project again. To reiterate, this project required us to add our face to an existing picture of a celebrity with someone. For this project, I replaced my face and put it on the actress Blake Lively. To make it realistic, I used the brightness and contrast feature as well as the sharpen tool to blend my face on to her body.
